St Edwards Crown (1661) - Miniature Replica Crown with Crystals on Gold Plated Body - Collectors Edition Boxed

Over the last 900 years there have been two St. Edward's Crowns. The first was believed to have belonged to Edward the Confessor. The second was the crown which replaced it in 1661. The original St. Edward's crown was kept at Westminster Abbey.

The actual crown of Coronation, it is made of gold, set with precious and semiprecious stones, and weighs five pounds. It is reputed to contain the gold from the crown of Edward the Confessor. During the time of Cromwell, most of the Crown Jewels were melted into coinage, but it would appear that the original crown was saved, and incorporated into this crown made for the Coronation of Charles II in 1661

This crown is reproduced in 1/12 th scale
