Circa 1901-1903 George B Post (1837-1913)

Mr George B Post was the winner of the competition around the year 1900, to design a new stock exchange.

This striking neo-classical structure has 6 Corinthian columns and an impressive pediment. The pediment was designed in 1903 by John Quincy Adams Ward, and is entitled Integrity protecting the works of man.

The building was opened in April 1903.

If you visit the building today, the columns are invariably wrapped in the US flag.
