CHARLES DICKEN'S HOUSE

One of the series of House Models, Charles Dickens House is cast from fine Gypsum plaster and has windows and balconies made from brass etchings. The back and base of the model are covered with blue baize so the model can be displayed on delicate surfaces without fear of scratching.

While living at 48 Doughty Street Charles Dickens published Pickwick Papers, Oliver Twist and Nicholas Nickleby. His novels illustrate the characters and life of Victorian London and raised the awareness of the appalling conditions that the 19th century working class, and in particular children, had to endure. He wrote fifteen major novels and countless short stories. He is buried in Poets Corner in Westminster Abbey. Charles Dickens (1812 - 1870) remains one of our greatest writers.

Weight: 1.6 kg - Dimensions: 3.5w x 7.5h x 2d
