Bust of Roman Emperor Hadrian made in British Gypsum Plaster.
Hadrian had a love for all things Greek and was the first emperor to be depicted with a beard. He strengthened the Roman Empire through architecture, building Hadrian's Wall, and rebuilding the Pantheon. He visited almost every province of the empire during his peaceful twenty-year reign.
The base
This bust includes Hadrian's wall, a Roman chariot, the Colloseum and Hadrian's Arch.
The etch around the base reads:
"PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH"
