Research and development over the period of a year led to the creation of Bruadar Liqueur - an amber coloured liqueur which perfectly complements Columba Cream. One of the key ingredients of Bruadar is carefully prepared sloeberries enough to balance out the sweetness of the honey but not so many as to impart bitterness. The connoisseur will appreciate the maturation of the liqueur in the bottle. Once the bottle is opened, over a period of months the sweetness of the honey is rounded off and the taste of the sloes comes to the fore. £16.96 Columba Cream 70cl This is Scotland's Malt Whisky Cream Liqueur - exceptionally smooth and based on a centuries-old family recipe for brose. Columba Cream is a skilful blend of Scotch malt whisky, cream and honey. Originally, brose was a traditional Scots family drink made daily using ingredients readily available on the croft - whisky, oatmeal, cream, sometimes honey, sometimes fruit. The whisky was often distilled in secret, illicit stills which proliferated on the rugged and inaccessible coastline of the Western Highlands and Islands. This family recipe was adapted over the years, removing the oatmeal and adding other secret ingredients until the perfect blend was achieved.
